Pajama Day - IHSW Day 1

Pajama Day
International Homeschool Spirit Week
Day 1

It's International Homeschool Spirit Week!!!! Today is Pajama Day and so in the "spirit" of Spirit Week we all wore our pajama's most of the day ... at least until shortly before Noni came over to visit for a few hours before swim class registration.

Before I share the pictures of our day and what we did here's a list of what's going on each day for Spirit Week:

  • Pajama Day – Monday, September 23rd -Sponsored by CurrClick
  • Homeschool Away from Home Day – Tuesday, September 24th – Sponsored by iHomeschool Network
  • Crazy Hairstyle Day – Wednesday, September 25th – Sponsored by Hip Homeschool Moms
  • Volunteer Outside Your Home Day – Thursday, September 26th – Sponsored by Great Homeschool Conventions
  • Super Hero Day – Friday, September 27th – Sponsored by Free Homeschool Deals
We may participate in some of the contests but we're doing this just for the "spirit" of it. If you're interested in participating in some of the contests you can visit Homeschool Spirit Week and check it out.

Peanut's wrinkles showing she'd been in the bath long enough.

After the girl's bath last night I attempted to french braid their hair. I've been trying to learn this skill off and on for about a year now and I'm no where near proficient at it! But the girls are wonderful about it and put up with Mommy tugging and mumbling and starting over until some kind of braid has been accomplished.

Working on their binder this morning ... I'd taken the braid out of Peanut's hair but not out of YCJ's hair yet.

Hard at work on their lessons and super comfy while doing them. They told me we should do a pajama day everyday ... tempting but everyone's brain starts better after getting dressed. But, I relented a bit by saying maybe once a month and on any sick days.

After our book lessons we found this cute fuzzy catipillar crawling along the bottom step off of the back porch. The kiddos watched it for a few minutes until I had them go back inside (YCJ hadn't put even slippers on her feet and it was pretty darn chilly out there!) I also had ECJ move the poor little guy closer to the field so that it wouldn't get stepped on or eaten by our dogs.

Peanut spent about half an hour sitting on Moragon's back while eating a banana and talking to her about the field next door. Peanut was the only one who stayed in her pajama's all day the rest of us changed before Noni got here (me because I was going with Noni to register the kiddos for swim class, the cracker jack's because neither wanted to be in pajama's anymore).

We went for a quick walk today (it really was too chilly for no jackets) and even Mommy stayed in pajama's most of the day. Of course my pajama's are usually pajama pants and the closest of my husband's comfy t-shirts. We did get everything in my lesson planner done for today and all the chores, plus the visit from Noni, enrolling the kids in swim class, and nobody completely freaked out. It was a great way to start Spirit Week!!!

Tomorrow is Homeschool Away from Home day and though I'm not exactly sure what we'll do (other than our lessons) and where we'll do it at there's sure to be a lot of pictures and a post! See you tomorrow!!!
